Mission Statement and main goals

Our Mission is to develop and maintain specialist services for young people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder and those who care for them within North Lanarkshire and to encourage a better understanding of the condition.

Our main goals are:

Confidence and Self-Esteem: Through our activities and groups we hope that children with autism will be more confident, enjoy more life-opportunities and build their self-esteem.

Social Inclusion: Children will be better developed socially as they will have had access to a programme tailored to meet their needs. Children with autism and their families will take a greater part in community life, enabling social inclusion.

Support and Information: Families will be better informed and supported.

Public Awareness: General public in North Lanarkshire will have a greater awareness and understanding of ASD and how it affects the lives of individuals and families.

Lobbying: To lobby the relevant bodies and to influence policy and practice.
