Congrats to Carol Russell MBE!

HOPE would like to congratulate our current Chair of the Board and longstanding cornerstone Carol Russell on her recent MBE.

Carol, age 53, has been working at HOPE since it’s foundation, helping to establish it as North Lanarkshire’s local branch of The National Autistic Society, to our founding as a registered charity in 2002, and continues to work to the benefit of many aspects of our services by heading up our Board of Trustees.

For years, Carol has shown dedication and determination to bring support to her local community, spreading the message of HOPE’s services far and wide. She was originally inspired to help others when her daughter Nicole was diagnosed with severe autism at age four. Carol has inspired family and friends for years, with Nicole regualrly joining her at our fundraising events. Her son Derek works tirelessly as one of HOPE’s Senior Group Development Workers, while other son Graeme and husband Scott regularly contribute towards HOPE through fundraising and raising awareness.

We at HOPE are delighed that Carol’s contributions have been recognised and are proud to celebrate her commitment to supporting the autistic community.
